Concerning the video in particle in this article, I completely agree that MLK's legacy should be preserved. Not just through a street name, but through places and monuments that constantly reminds us of the accomplishments and impacts that he has made in American history as a whole. For example, the elderly woman in the video has a point that King wouldn't want a street in his name to this day still filled with violence and negativity. That would go against all he has nonviolently fought for, which was freedom and justice for his own people. Also, the street itself is so devoid of any people and filled with places that once had life and meaning to the community have been long gone. Compared to the South side, North Chicago is filled with great little restaurants, tourists attractions, and shops all around that depict Martin's time period way of living. This should be depicted in Martin's street, especially since this is where African Americans lived and where he preached for his people's freedom. So, seeing Trump sign a law that's going to create a national historic park for Martin Luther King is probably one of the only INTELLIGENT decisions this man has made since running office. That way, MLK's legacy will be remembered for generations to come. It will have a lasting impact, not just in America, but throughout humanity.
